Evia island itself is the second largest after Crete it is largely unspoiled and less commercial with diverse landscape of tree topped mountains, historical sites, caves etc. Unlike other islands it is not dependant on Athens for its water and is accessible by road, there are two
bridges at the capital Halkida. The island is serviced by Ferry boat all year round from Rafina Port, buses meet the boats here to link with the Airport and Athens centre. The ferry takes about one hour from Rafina to Marmari and from there it is a scenic country drive of about half an hour to the friendly village of Giannitsi which lies on the Aegean side of the Island.

We will still have Greek family in the village to which we will return for holidays, but we must for business reasons return to our English family.
